Easing the burden of DSCSA Loan/Borrow Management

Guest post from Children’s Hospital of WI

An up-close look at ConsortiEX’s DSCSA Compliance as a Service (CaaS) application with Michael Lange, Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

Loan/Borrow situations present unique challenges for DSCSA Compliance and they were a real pain point for us.

Previously, we were doing everything by hand. So we were manually pulling data out of AmericsourceBergen and writing out all the T3 documentation. Then, we kept the data we created on a searchable drive to create as much of an electronic record as possible.

Before ConsortiEX, we had to manually search tens of thousands of transactions. Basically, every Loan/Borrow situation involved a call to our wholesaler’s technical support.

The ConsortiEX solution has been a big time-saver for us. Our primary Loan/Borrow resource was already utilizing the ConsortiEX DSCSA Compliance as a Service (CaaS). So when we went live with our EDI feed, everything was very seamless.

When we create a T3 document, the data we need populates itself, so we see the documentation pretty instantaneously and it makes it so much easier for us to keep a complete history. We simply search the NDC and lot number; then, the date range.

Now, with the ConsortiEX DSCSA Compliance as a Service (CaaS) Application, the entire compliance process is really quick and easy for us.
